What is a vehicle chassis?
A chassis is the under part of a vehicle consisting of a frame on which the body of the vehicle is mounted with the wheels, the steering system and the suspension system.
Chassis parts have an effect on:
- Steering precision and stability
- Road holding
- Tyrewear
- Safety
- Comfort
- Fuel consumption
- Car stability
Every year 1 in 20 cars needs chassis parts replaced.
There are several reasons for this:
- Maintenance due to wear on moving parts
- legal obligations such as annual car inspection
- damage from dirt and contamination
